Purpose
Topical anesthesia typically either relieves existing pain from a body surface or prevents pain during medical examinations or procedures. Body surfaces include both skin and mucous membranes, which are the moist linings of areas such as the inside of the mouth or nose. Occasionally, use of a topical anesthetic may help clarify whether a patient’s pain comes from a body surface, which the substance is able to touch, or from deeper structures beyond the reach of the substance. A mucous membrane, an area of skin, or areas just beneath the skin’s surface temporarily lose feeling during topical anesthesia.

19.8% Lidocaine Painless Cream

How many creams do you need?

1onz can cover a skin area the size of two palms. If the skin area to be worked on is larger than two palms, then you need two or more ounces of cream.

1. Use thick amount of the cream on the treatment area.
2. Use plastic wrap to cover the cream in the treatment area.
3. Lidocaine is a volatile ingredient so you should cover them with plastic wrap to help absorb the lidocaine into the skin.
4. After 30~60 minutes, remove the plastic wrap and the cream as well. Leave the cream on the skin longer for better results. Don’t remove the plastic wrap until you feel the numbing effect.
5. As soon as you remove them, go to the procedure right away.

Warning: Lidocaine is generally very safe. However, exercise caution when applying this cream. Apply this cream sparingly first before increasing the amount. This cream is a local anesthetic; applying it to open wounds may cause absorption of Lidocaine into the bloodstream which would cause mild general transient anesthesia. watch out for irregular heartbeats, nervousness, disorientation, dizziness, and a metallic taste on the tongue. If such side effects occur, immediately stop and wash off the Lidocaine on your skin, if symptoms get worst then call emergency services.
